What Could Have Been

Hey everyone! Hamadyne here, with some fun and exciting Missing Stars history for you. Some of you might already know this, but our current cast wasn't set in stone from the get-go. At one point, we had upwards of thirty character concepts to choose from, which made selecting them pretty tough. We had a lot of fun ideas but it all came down to a vote. Today, I'll go over some of the more popular characters that didn't make the cut!First up is one of my favorites, Agatha Schulz-Rhine.

Early on, we had a lot of fun discussions about Phineas Gage and his radical personality change, and very nearly decided to explore that idea with Agatha. Once an extremely rebellious teenager, Agatha's life was changed forever after a piece of metal impaled her skull. Her personality took a complete one-eighty, becoming a prim and polite young lady. Her route would have explored her previous life and how so radical a change affected her relationship with her friends and family. We liked her …

Somnova Studios: September 2020 Update

Hey everybody!

This month's update will be a quick one, since not much as changed since our last update. We are all still working hard on Act 2 and beyond. The main bulk of our work so far is cleaning up the code for the game while we wait for more assets to be made. Once that's done, we'll have a much easier time making scenes for Missing Stars, and ensuring that editors, writers, and other developers can make Missing Stars the best visual novel it can be!

Speaking of assets, here's a new CG we've been working on!

This CG (plus a few more) will be pushed to a new version of Missing Stars: Act One, so please stay tuned for a separate announcement. We'll share more updates next month! There's a few exciting things we have planned for 2021 that we can't reveal just yet, but we might be able to tease something soon!

You'll be happy to hear that we aren’t dead and we’re still working on Act 2 and beyond. Unfortunately, like a lot of places around the world, we ran into delays as we adjusted to the pandemic situation. It never halted, but it definitely took a mental toll on a lot of the devs.
Because of said pandemic, we've had to put our NaNoRenO project, How To Romance a Demon Lord, on hold. We're hoping to complete it sometime in the future, and we'll make an announcement when we decide to revisit the concept.
With things settling down somewhat, we're ready to ramp up production of the rest of Missing Stars, so expect more timely updates from us moving forward. We're very excited to show more content to you guys.
In fact, let's start now! We have two WIPs of some of our upcoming CGs, which will be added to Act One soon.

Finally, our Ov…
